About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Buyer to own direct and indirect material procurement for turbojet engine manufacturing. You will secure on-time delivery of the components required for manufacture and assembly, manage assigned supplier relationships, and expedite hardware with lead times of 6+ months.
This role demands a strong technical background, sharp critical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
What You’ll Own
- Purchase Order Management: Run the direct-material procurement process, including planning, PO placement, and expediting, as well as maintain current delivery dates on all purchase orders.
- Indirect Procurement: Place POs for purchase requisitions including component repairs, balance of plant, engineering services, NRE, and tooling.
- Scheduling: Component scheduling to support fulfillment and inventory requirements, including hardware with 6+ month lead times.
- Supplier Management: Develop and manage assigned supplier relationships.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
- Customer Satisfaction: Strong customer satisfaction mindset with the ability to enhance internal and external customer relationships.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of sourcing and procurement processes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years of applicable professional experience in procurement
- 5+ years of procurement experience in an aerospace or turbine/engine manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with business processes related to sourcing and purchase order management
- Direct experience with ERP systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Initiative-taker with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
