Quality Assurance Manager
Greater Indianapolis Area

YER USA is partnering with an international manufacturing company to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager for its U.S. operations in the greater Indianapolis area.

This is a key leadership role for a hands-on quality professional who can build structure, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead and further develop the Quality function, with responsibility for both Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The focus is on creating a proactive, data-driven quality organization that supports operational excellence, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.

You will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations to ensure quality is built into processes and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the quality team, including auditors and lab personnel
  • Establish and improve QA and QC processes, inspection standards, and quality planning methods
  • Ensure effective incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes
  • Maintain and develop the Quality Management System, including audit readiness in an ISO environment
  • Lead customer complaint handling, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and defects
  • Implement and track quality KPIs to monitor performance and identify trends
  • Oversee testing, measurement systems, and calibration processes
  • Support supplier quality, incoming materials control, and cross-functional quality initiatives
  • Partner with internal teams to strengthen process discipline and prevent quality issues

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality leadership within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of QA and QC systems, inspection methods, and corrective action processes
  • Experience with ISO standards and audits
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Lean, or Six Sigma
  • Leadership experience with direct reports and team development

Preferred

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, especially injection molding or thermoforming
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
  • Familiarity with core quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and MSA
