Project Manager

ORTEC is a global leader in supply chain planning software, advanced analytics, and consulting. For more than 40 years, ORTEC has helped over 1,200 organizations worldwide optimize logistics, routing, loading, workforce planning, forecasting, and network design. Their solutions support some of the world’s most recognizable brands across food & beverage, manufacturing, retail, and logistics.
ORTEC has approximately 1,000 employees across 13 countries. Our North American headquarters is based in Atlanta, where we continue to invest and grow our delivery and operations teams.
The Role
ORTEC is hiring a Project Manager to lead customer‑facing software implementation projects across our supply chain optimization solutions, with a strong emphasis on cloud and SaaS‑based offerings.
This role is ideal for a delivery‑focused, customer‑oriented Project Manager who enjoys working in complex environments, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and guiding customers through operational change. You will not be expected to be the technical or solution expert, but you will be responsible for ensuring projects are well‑planned, well‑executed, and delivered successfully.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of customer implementation projects, from kickoff through go‑live and stabilization
- Own project planning, timelines, scope, budget, risks, and escalations
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, typically 1–3 at a time
- Act as the primary organizer and facilitator for cross‑functional project teams, including consultants, solution owners, developers, and integration specialists
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers at operational and leadership levels
- Guide customers through change management and adoption as they implement new ways of working
- Coordinate closely with ORTEC’s development teams, including Europe‑based engineering, particularly for newer cloud solutions that continue to evolve
- Lead steering committee and status meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactively identify delivery risks and escalate appropriately to ensure alignment and momentum
- Create and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) and Change Requests (CRs) in line with ORTEC standards
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
- 4–7+ years of experience managing external, customer‑facing software implementation projects
- Strong foundation in project management fundamentals (planning, scope, budgets, timelines, risk, escalation)
- Experience delivering enterprise software, ideally SaaS or cloud‑based solutions
- Comfortable working in agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and customer relationships
- Experience leading teams without direct authority
Preferred Background
- Exposure to supply chain, logistics, optimization, analytics, or enterprise operations software
- Experience coordinating with active development teams where solutions are still evolving
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar project management tools
What Matters Most
- Strong communication and relationship‑management skills
- High emotional intelligence and a team‑first mindset
- Ability to operate independently with limited day‑to‑day supervision
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving products
- Professional, customer‑facing presence at all time
This is a project leadership role, not a solution or consulting role. We are looking for PMs who enable teams rather than try to own the content.
Location, Work Style & Travel
- Based in Atlanta, GA near Perimeter Mall.
- Hybrid role with a preference for regular office presence (approximately 50%)
- 20–30% travel, primarily within the US, tied to key project milestones such as workshops, training, and go‑lives
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, MIS, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- PMP, Scrum, PRINCE2, or ITIL certifications are a plus, but not required
