Our client is looking for a dynamic Operations Director for their Ingredients North America, Inc. manufacturing site in Delhi, New York, which specializes in producing high-quality ingredients with exceptional nutritional value for the infant, sports, adult and medical markets.
With employee safety a number one priority, the Operations/Site Director shall engage, oversee and lead a 24/7 manufacturing site to ensure day-to-day operational activities run effectively, are aligned to the company’s strategy and key performance indicators, and proactively recommends opportunities and implements sound solutions to maximize efficiencies that are fit for future growth.
The Operations/Site Director’s is accountable for: successful implementation of change management activities, site P&L, oversight of production, planning, procurement, environmental health and safety, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement teams. To achieve results, the incumbent must excel at leading and engaging teams, create a feeling of belonging, easily navigate a matrix organization, build rapport with staff and stakeholders in other countries, deal with ambiguity, possess keen problem-solving skills, manage compliance and quality concerns promptly, serve the customer by delivering product on-time and in a cost effective manner, demonstrate commitment to a local community and ability to successfully lead change in a manufacturing setting within a population of 125 to 200 employees.
Key knowledge and experience:
Bachelors of Science, Masters preferred, in Engineering or related field along with 7 to 10 years of experience managing and directing a manufacturing site in the ingredients, flavor or pharma industry. Must possess a thorough understanding of all technical, regulatory/OSHA/EPA and supply chain related activities; managed capex programs up to $20 mil, possess knowledge of dairy/whey proteins/Caseinates/Hydrolysates (ideal); ability work under pressure with ambiguity and competing deadlines; ability to influence positive outcomes, proactive complaint handling style, possess excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English; able to travel internationally on occasion, lead by example on all Safety and Compass policies; be ambitious, highly energetic, engaged and curious to learn, grow and win in the market. The preferred candidate will possess production site management experiences in both the United States and abroad for a multinational company.
