Managing Director

Our client is a growing international technical manufacturing and services company with an established operation in Peachtree City, Georgia. The company is entering an important phase of growth and is looking for an experienced Managing Director to take full leadership responsibility for its U.S. business.

This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the local P&L, business performance, growth, organization, customers, and people.

The Opportunity

The U.S. operation has a strong technical foundation and is now being built into a larger North American lifecycle-services business supporting customers in a highly technical industry.

The Managing Director will lead this next stage of growth: setting the direction for the business, strengthening the organization, developing the team, and building a scalable operation.

This is an opportunity to run and shape a business, rather than manage one individual function.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full P&L and overall business responsibility for the U.S. operation
• Set business priorities and lead the execution of the growth strategy
• Develop the annual business plan, budget, and forecasts
• Build the organizational structure and leadership capabilities required for growth
• Lead and develop the management team and broader organization
• Drive growth in lifecycle services and recurring customer relationships
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers
• Identify new commercial and business-development opportunities
• Establish clear KPIs, processes, planning, and accountability
• Make decisions around people, capacity, investments, and organizational development
• Ensure strong operational performance, customer satisfaction, and financial results
• Work closely with international senior leadership and represent the U.S. business at Group level

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced General Manager, Managing Director, Business Unit President, Site GM, COO, or comparable senior business leader who has successfully run and grown a technical or industrial business.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Technical manufacturing
• Industrial services
• Precision engineering
• Tooling
• Automation
• Machinery or capital equipment
• Medical-device manufacturing
• Technical aftermarket or field service
• Other complex engineered products or services
• Direct experience in the company’s specific industry is not required.
• What matters is that you have a proven track record of:
• Owning a P&L and overall business performance
• Leading multiple functions and senior employees
• Scaling a business or business unit
• Building organizational structure and management capability
• Making significant people, investment, and business decisions
• Developing strong customer and commercial relationships
• Leading an organization through growth and change

The successful candidate will work closely with a strong Technical Director, who retains responsibility for technical and workshop operations. The Managing Director provides the overall business leadership and direction.
