Logistics Coordinator

The Opportunity
This is a practical, all-round logistics and customer service position for someone who likes to be close to the operation. You will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, keep customers updated, work with freight carriers, support inventory accuracy, and help the warehouse team stay on track. It is a visible role at the center of daily operations, combining logistics, administration, customer service, and floor coordination.
What You Will Be Doing
- Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including containers, truckloads (TL), and less-than-truckload (LTL) freight.
- Enter and maintain shipment data for all inbound freight and incoming stock.
- Prepare, review, and complete freight bills, bills of lading, labels, and supporting shipping documentation.
- Communicate with carriers when issues arise and help resolve transportation, routing, or delivery challenges.
- Recommend routing, carrier selection, and practical transportation solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Process and verify incoming stock to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Organize pickup schedules and coordinate cargo movements with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Coordinate material transport to and from third-party processing or manufacturing partners.
- Keep customers updated on orders, deliveries, and required documentation in a timely and professional way.
- Prioritize daily orders and provide clear direction to forklift operators to keep warehouse flow efficient.
- Report and document irregularities to the supervisor immediately.
- Manage incoming calls and support day-to-day customer service needs.
- Handle daily cash and check deposits.
- Audit freight invoices and help ensure accurate billing.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree is preferred but not required.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in logistics, imports, exports, transportation, warehousing, or distribution.
- Familiarity with freight carriers, shipping documents, inventory processes, and warehouse operations.
- A pragmatic, hands-on mindset with the ability to make sensible decisions in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with invoices, shipping documents, labels, and inventory records.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Comfort working across office administration, customer contact, and warehouse coordination.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., files, office equipment).
- Ability to move around the facility and warehouse, which may include walking and standing.
- Must be able to concentrate and remain focused in an open office environment with potential distractions.
