Company Summary
Maier America was established in Germany almost 100 years ago by Christian and Friedrich Maier. The company designs and manufactures rotary joints for a wide variety of applications and is known for outstanding product and service quality, as well as safety and reliability.
In 2000, Maier America was established in Norcross, GA and currently employs 14 valued team members. In 2025 the company moved into a new larger facility which is also located in Norcross, GA.
Position Summary
The CEO/GM will have full P&L responsibilities while managing the company’s strategic growth in North America. The CEO/GM will manage 14 current employees responsible for sales, finance, IT, HR, production, assembly with paint shop, repair department, purchasing and logistics, operations and service.
The CEO/GM will report to an advisory board in Germany and act as a liaison between the US Subsidiary and the Headquarters in Germany.
Main tasks and objectives
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s long-term strategy, aligned with the parent company’s objectives.
- Market Growth and Positioning: Drive revenue, profitability, and market share growth in the technical sales segment across the U.S. market.
- Sales Management: Lead and develop the technical sales team, identify new market opportunities, and build strong, lasting customer relationships. Responsible for local pricing development and fulfillment.
- Executive Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and develop the local management team, especially in sales and technical departments.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, p/l, cash flow, and investments, ensuring financially sound operations and monthly reporting to HQ
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain and expand relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, the parent company, and local authorities.
- Innovation Management: Promote innovation and integrate new technologies to strengthen the market position
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and IT, to ensure that the supply chain, service and operations are aligned with business goals.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and the internal team
- Dotted line to Managing Directors in Germany
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws;
- Especially required are the interaction, supervision, support, guidance and training of the company’s sales engineers and other staff members
- Especially required is the direct supervision/interaction with the repair/service center (warehouse) supervisor, application engineer, and approving technical drawings necessary for modifications / peripheral items
Specialist tasks:
- Close cooperation with the global Sales Team, headquarters in Germany
- Preparation and detailed elaboration of investments for the investment plan and implementation following approval
- Preparation of evaluations, annual reports and statistics for the management in Germany
Scope of sales/budget/profit responsibility
- Handle the Maier America entity and report monthly or as needed basis to Christian Maier GmbH & Co. KG
- Growth expectation as defined in a growth plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field required / Master’s Degree desired
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leading role in sales of related products in a B2B environment, ideally in the field of storage technology / steel construction with proven sales success, application know-how and proven track record of business growth
- In-depth understanding of the US market, including cultural norms, regulatory requirements and industry trends. Proven experience in understanding the thinking of German family-owned companies would be a plus
- Experience, expertise and existing networks in the fluid handling industry are desired
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approx. 50% (Valid passport required)
- Excellent skills in Leadership and, developing people and organizations and forming a performance-oriented culture with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strategic analytical thinking, strong skills in the field of business administration, sales methods and marketing, with the ability to take and execute data-driven decisions
- Dedicated self-starter, creative thinker and a driven team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
