Field Service Engineer

Are you the person to be part of the Westrup Inc team as our field service engineer supporting our customers in the grain and seed industry across the US? Are you the person to be part of installing new machines and overhauling existing machines at our customers facilities? Can you service and support our customers in cooperation with the Westrup team in the US and globally? Can you act on your own and make decisions when needed while being part of the same team to build our business? Westrup is now looking for a field service engineer for our team serving the US market – is that you?
Westrup produces a large assortment of machines for cleaning and sorting grains and seeds. Engineered and produced at our factory in Denmark, 90% are supplied outside of Denmark with the US as a growing market for us.
ABOUT THE JOB:
As a field service engineer in the Westrup Inc team, you will be tasked with installation and commissioning new machines in close cooperation with our customers and partners. On existing installations, you will make sure our customers’ business runs smoothly by performing service and repair tasks.
We also partner with suppliers of equipment that supplement ours and you will be trained to provide installation and repair on this equipment too.
At Westrup we value sharing knowledge and experience, and we offer our customers training and guidance on the best use of their Westrup equipment and you will be providing this service to our customers too. We also value sharing knowledge and experience internally too and you will become part of our global service team in this respect.
ABOUT YOU:
- A background as millwright, machinist, blacksmith or similar
- Experience with mechanical field service and repair jobs and basic welding skills
- An interest in machines and controls including automation systems
- Hold a driver’s license and forklift qualification
- Basic computer skills; MS Outlook for email and MS Office for reports and timesheets
- Can plan, arrange and execute your service jobs on your own
- Is proactive and sales oriented (for spares and service offerings)
- Can travel 100-200 days annually across North America and occasionally to Europe
