About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established European manufacturer of high-performance engineered ceramic powder materials with a strong reputation in industrial applications worldwide. Following significant growth in North America, they are looking to add an entrepreneurial Commercial Sales Manager to drive the next phase of expansion across the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building business, developing new markets, and having a genuine impact within a smaller, highly collaborative international organization.

The Opportunity

This position offers a unique combination of managing an established customer base while aggressively expanding the U.S. market. The territory has tremendous untapped potential, and the company is investing heavily in future growth, both in manufacturing capacity and commercial expansion. Unlike many larger organizations, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the sales organization, improve processes, and influence the company’s long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales throughout the United States.
  • Manage an established portfolio of key customers while placing a strong emphasis on new business development.
  • Identify, prospect, and close new opportunities within industries including:
  • Thermal Spray Applications
  • Advanced Thermal Barrier Coating
  • Aerospace and Aero Engines
  • Industrial Turbine Blades/Vanes
  • Printing Rolls
  • Semiconductors
  • Oil & Gas Additive Manufacturing Seals and Bearing
  • Mining
  • Medical
  • Build relationships with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams.
  • Conduct customer visits throughout the U.S. and attend industry trade shows.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, account plans and market intelligence reports.
  • Analyze competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and customer service teams in Europe.
  • Help establish scalable sales processes and implement a CRM system to improve pipeline visibility and customer management.
  • Take ownership of growing the U.S. business with an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

  • Significant growth potential in the U.S. market.
  • Opportunity to build rather than simply maintain a territory.
  • High level of autonomy with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Direct access to leadership and decision-makers.
  • Ability to influence sales strategy, processes, and CRM implementation.
  • Join a small international team where your contribution has a visible impact.
  • The company has grown U.S. revenue significantly over the past year and is making continued investments to support future expansion.
Ideal Background

We’re looking for someone who enjoys hunting for new business while maintaining strong customer relationships. Ideal candidates will have experience selling:

  • Thermal spray powders (highly preferred)
  • Engineered ceramic materials
  • Industrial powders
  • Metallurgical or advanced material solutions
  • Other technical industrial products sold into manufacturing environments
  • Candidates may also come directly from an end-user or customer environment if they possess strong commercial abilities and industry knowledge.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical B2B sales experience
  • Proven success developing new business within industrial manufacturing markets
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently from a home office
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build structure and improve processes
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Why Consider This Role?

If you’re looking for a role where you can truly build a business, influence strategy, and work in an entrepreneurial environment rather than being one salesperson among hundreds, this opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact while growing alongside an expanding international manufacturer.
