Position Overview:
The Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in contributing to the daily purchase operations of machines, IT services, office and building services, and products in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This role reports to the Accounting Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day general accounting functions, including invoicing, billing, A/R, and A/P.
- Perform daily banking transactions.
- Control cash flow and working capital.
- Coordinate and maintain records for staff, customers, vendors, and expense reports.
- Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
- Prepare report analysis and findings for the management team.
- Handle monthly return and payment for sales tax and corporate quarterly taxes.
- Process warranty credits to customers.
- Process vendor invoices and issue checks/ACH batches.
- Process monthly reimbursement expenses by collecting and analyzing receipts from the sales team.
- Process accounting information for the accounting department in Italy.
- Analyze and process the annual Nexus report.
- Prepare and process annual 1099 data for suppliers.
- Handle bank deposits and maintain bank accounts, including reconciliations.
Profile:
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a combination of education, training, and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Strong math and research skills.
- Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
- Ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.
