This Opportunity

Seeking a Product Development Engineer for our client, DPP – Diener Precision Pumps (www.dpp.swiss), the US subsidiary of DPP Switzerland, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of micro-precision gear and metering pumps for industrial applications in the MedTech, F&B, and Printing technology industries.

The ideal candidate is a Mechanical Engineer with a state-of-the-art technology knowledge and demonstrated hands-on-experience. He/she is creative, dynamic, self-starter, with a hands-on attitude and great personality to join a small team of engineers, with the aim to expand DPP product design portfolio. This role reports directly to the CEO of DPP USA, based in Lodi, CA.

Diener Precision Pumps is part of the MedTech division of Acrotec (www.acrotec.ch), a leading industrial group in the high-tech components and specialized services for the watchmaking, MedTech, automotive, aerospace, aeronautics, or electronics industries. Acrotec employs over 2,500 professionals, has 29 production sites, and currently serves over 1,500 clients in more than 40 export markets.

 

Your Mission

  • Translate customer and market requirements into production pump designs via innovative and reliable product development.
  • Work with our sales, executive, and manufacturing groups (in the US and abroad), manage the product development cycle from conception to commercialization.
  • Analyze mechanical design concepts and verify suitability of use.
  • Successfully incorporate design-for-manufacturing techniques.
  • Grow the pump technology knowledge base within the group.
  • Create and implement product validation plans.
  • Design and develop pump solutions in a timely manner and within defined budget.
  • Report to the engineering and manufacturing groups on project status—work with them to remove roadblocks.
  • Design performance and validation tests to verify concepts.
  • Design products using CAD, FEA, and other software tools.
  • Work with our manufacturing division in Switzerland to optimize design-for-manufacturing.
  • Maintain a competitive edge through the knowledge of current technologies and international standards.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar is a plus.
  • Min. 10-12 years proven experience in creating, designing, prototyping, and implementing new micro-mechanical products and solutions.
  • Previous experience designing pumps or fluid systems.
  • Experience with electronic controls, electric motor technologies, and magnetic field analysis.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD design tool (SolidWorks), simulation analysis software (FEA), and tolerancing standards under ISO 9001/ISO 13485 and compliances.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to create reports et technical documentation.
  • Passionate, hands-on, creative, curious, hard-working, self-motivated, goals oriented.
  • Great interpersonal skills interacting with local or int’l teams at all levels.

 

Employment: full-time position – office based in Lodi, CA

Compensation: $120-150K (based on proven experience)
