About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join a forward thinking and innovative company that takes great pride in its commitment to sustainability and strong ethical business practices. As Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing, administering, and coordinating all engineering and maintenance services required by the plant. You will also provide technical assistance, engineering, and maintenance services to all phases of operation within the plant. This position has a heavy focus on the maintenance of current equipment and requires regular physical presence within the plant. To be successful in this role, you need at least 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing maintenance as well as experience managing a team. The ideal candidate has excellent time management and organizational skills, and is highly organized, detail-oriented and conscientious. This position is based out Gränges’ production facility in Newport, AR, and reports directly to the Site Leader.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance programs and processes of the plant to ensure timely, effective production, and minimize downtime
  • Develop engineering and maintenance policies and procedures for the plant
  • Create engineering designs and specifications for facility upgrades to maintain Gränges Americas in the most advantageous position competitively in the industry
  • Coordinate with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation
  • Direct the operations of the Engineering and Maintenance Departments to ensure efficiency and quality of services within established cost forecasts
  • Prepare short- and long-term (1-5 year) plans for all areas of engineering and maintenance, prepare the Engineering and Maintenance Department budgets for approval
  • Build and manage an efficient team to meet present and future needs
  • Manage team members in day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Ensure that project/department milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets
  • Follow all safety rules and practices in the workplace
  • Represent the company’s core values of being committed, action-oriented, innovative, and accessible
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of accounting software, database software, and manufacturing software
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
  • Experience with aluminum rolling or casting is a plus
  • Outstanding English communication skills, both verbal and written. Spanish is a big plus
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and planning skills
  • Affinity to problem-solving, time-management, and multi-tasking
  • Team-focused mindset, with great communication and cooperation skills
  • A hands-on, open-minded, versatile, enthusiastic can-do attitude while embracing continuous learning
