Vice President of Sales – Recycling & Waste

Vecoplan - Archdale, NC

On behalf of our client, Vecoplan LLC, we are currently seeking a VP of Sales for their Recycling & Waste business segment. This is an excellent career opportunity for a talented sales manager with solid experience in managing direct and indirect sales operations in the capital equipment industry. Experience in the recycling/shredding industry is a big plus. Ideally, the position is based in Archdale, NC.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, you will report directly to the CEO. You will receive a great deal of freedom to, based on your experience and with a “fresh pair of eyes”, restructure, develop, and inspire a motivated team of sales professionals.  The VP will strategize, develop, and implement a successful and profitable business plan with tangible sales results. This role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills as well as keen business acumen.  As of today, the sales team consists of 8 sales professionals of which one is inside sales. Travel will be 30-40%, primarily in North America.

Furthermore, the role will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong business relationships, not only with the internal sales team, but also the distributor’s network, and of course, existing and new customers to sustain continuous market share and sales growth.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate sales leadership by coaching, developing, inspiring, motivating, and driving high performance amongst team members.
  • Mentor, lead & participate in presentations, negotiations, sales meetings, and trade shows with key external & internal stakeholders.
  • Develop a vision, sales strategy, and objectives to achieve sustained sales growth and increased market share,
  • identify new processes and systems to improve the identification of leads.
  • Assist in the development of the annual sales budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the internal stakeholders, such as marketing, engineering, manufacturing, project management, providing input and feedback regarding pricing and marketing strategy.
  • Maintain trusted customer relationships, championing their needs through active contribution to the business plan of product launches and capacity increases.
  • Determine how to properly serve past and existing customers to maintain and gradually grow revenue.
  • Develop and lead the sales organization to drive new business and close orders. Provide leadership regarding customer applications, pricing methodology, quality, and liability.
  • Organize and participate in exhibitions and trade shows.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of total experience is required with at least 7 years of direct and indirect sales experience within the capital equipment industry, including 4 years of supervisory sales experience. Experience in selling recycling/shredding equipment preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing a sales strategy and business/budget plan.
  • Thrives by working independently with an ability to lead, drive, and motivate others.
  • Proactive behavior, taking initiative and seeking continuous improvement.
  • Has access to the existing network of industry-specific customer relationships, or proven experience in developing those relationships.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM, preferable MS Dynamics.
  • Experience in hiring, deploying sales talent, and the ability to coach, develop and motivate.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A results-oriented mindset focused on the execution of goals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, delivering high-quality, on-time, and in-scope results within the allocated budget.
  • Capacity to translate ideas and concepts succinctly, including technical issues.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to identify performance gaps and a strategic mindset to initiate, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS office suite; ERP).
  • Ability to travel 30-40%, primarily nationwide.
