Position Overview:
The Technical Sales Manager for Metal Treatment North America serves as the primary technical and commercial contact for customers in the Metal Treatment cluster within the Division of Material Science. This role is responsible for account management and providing product and application support to clients in defined market segments, including seamless tube manufacturers and forges. The Technical Sales Manager ensures sustainable, profitable growth by managing relationships, delivering technical expertise, and expanding the client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct client visits to offer technical consulting, oversee production trials, and present products to strengthen relationships and grow client accounts.
- Coordinate with I&AD, Sales, and R&D teams to address technical requests, support production, and resolve any issues clients may face.
- Manage and grow accounts within the Metal Treatment sector, collaborating with the Regional Head of Sales to expand presence in this industry.
- Monitor trends and competitors within target segments, contributing insights for strategic development and potential M&A opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records in Salesforce, MS Projects, and SAP to ensure clear communication and project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science (focus on metallurgy), Mineralogy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of metal treatment processes.
- Effective sales and networking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Proficiency with CRM and project tools such as Salesforce, MS Projects, SAP preferred.
- Ability to travel 50-70%, both domestically and internationally.
