INIT is seeking a System Engineer – IT & Operations to support our project organization with strong technical expertise and software development thinking.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will support our projects in planning and implementing reliable IT infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving server environments and related system components. The position involves working with modern technologies to ensure stable, secure, and scalable deployments. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver robust systems that support our software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows and Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) servers
- Set up and management of web servers such as IIS, NGINX, or Apache
- Creation, management, and optimization of Docker containers
- Deployment and operation of Docker Compose environments
- Knowledge of handling TLS certificates
- Monitoring of systems, services, and applications, including alerting
- Performance analysis, troubleshooting, and incident management
- Consulting, supporting customers in planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Completed training or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, ideally in a project-based environment
- Experience in public transport, particularly regarding E-mobility, would be advantageous.
- Good command of (technical) English, both written and spoken
- Independent working style, ability to work in a team, and strong communication skills
- Participate in a paid on-call rotation
