The role:
The company is seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to elevate their Supply Chain Director role. In this pivotal position, you will oversee comprehensive supply chain operations and guide a team of 35 professionals across Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse functions. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will be instrumental in driving process improvements, optimizing performance metrics, and cultivating a motivated, high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and team development:
- Inspire, coach, and build a high-performing team to drive continuous improvement.
- Enhance communication and team spirit across all levels.
Operational excellence:
- Direct, plan, and coordinate supply chain activities ensuring timely production and customer shipments.
- Implement and refine processes and standards to boost plant efficiency, inventory turns, and customer service.
- Oversee material cost forecasting, budgeting, and performance metrics to meet and exceed goals.
Strategic process improvement:
- Develop and document supply chain workflows, cycle times, and process flows.
- Lead initiatives related to product launches, engineering changes, and market adaptations.
Safety and compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Multiple years of leadership experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience (5+ years) with SAP ERP systems.
- Proficient in MS Office and other ERP applications.
- Exceptional people management, team motivation, and communication skills.
- A strategic thinker with a track record of driving operational improvements.
- Experience in the food or pet food industry is a plus.
- German language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
