On behalf of our client, Semperit Industrial Products Inc., we are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Plant Operations Professional to take on the role of Site & Production Manager at the company’s new manufacturing facility in Newnan, GA. This is a 100% onsite position.

POSITION SUMMARY
As the Site & Production Manager, you will play a key role in our company’s future success. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire manufacturing facility to include safety, quality, efficiencies (OEE), volume-out, and in collaboration with the sales & service, engineering, and material development teams, meeting the customer expectations. This includes driving strategic plans that ensure that production goals are met in the most cost effective manner delivering expected financial results.
You will also oversee the industrial warehouse and subsequent supply chain/logistics operations for the distribution of the company’s traded goods.
You will have 7 direct reports including 3 production supervisors to cover a 3-shift Mon-Fri operation setting. Total indirect reports are about 30 employees (production, maintenance, HESQ , process and project engineering, supply chain & logistics, and warehousing.
In this position you will report directly to the Director of Operations at the headquarters in Europe and “dotted-line” to the US President in Newnan.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership to 7 direct reports (production, maintenance/engineering, supply chain, HSEQ, warehouse) and ~30 associates/technicians as indirect reports.
- Drive Plant performance and reviews KPIs regularly (Daily, Weekly and Monthly).
- Ensure that the facility provides the highest quality products produced in the most efficient manner within budgeted costs. Implement systems to effectively manage production schedules supporting the business S&OP process.
- Lead the effort and drive lean manufacturing tools and techniques fostering continuous improvement within the facility (OEE). Acts in a proactive fashion regarding problem resolution.
- Support the overall strategic planning efforts for the location which include cost reduction initiatives, capital planning and resources as well as in other areas.
- Manages the overall safety, quality, scheduling, production, shipping, maintenance and other administrative functions for the facility.
- Leads the effort in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient operation working within all company guidelines and local/state/federal regulations.
- Strives to improve the plant’s safety accident record year over year in creating a positive safety culture for all employees. Conducts safety walks of the facility on a weekly basis.
- Conducts talent reviews. Trains, develops, and motivates staff to optimize the workforce. Delivers performance reviews and any feedback to the team as needed.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required with a preference for mechanical or industrial engineering. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience, ideally in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with plastic extrusion or rubber production preferred.
- Excellent people-management and communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical skills to identify performance gaps and a strategic mindset to initiate, develop, and implement solutions.
- A desire for continuous improvement with a pragmatic approach and ‘make it happen’ attitude.
- Knowledge/experience with manufacturing metrics/KPIs and manufacturing improvement methodologies and projects, such as Lean 6 Sigma and 5S implementation, would be a big plus.
- Proficient computer skills (MS office suite).
- Self-starter, the ability to work independently, and excellent organizational skills.
- Team player with excellent communication skills. Works well with all levels in the organization.
- Good leadership skills: Ability to manage, motivate, and coach subordinates. Address performance issues as they arise.
Compensation: 135-165k plus bonus
