Position Summary

  • The Site Leader will manage an operation employing 30 – 40 employees. Services offered at this location include Production Logistics Sequencing, JIS Pick-up of Finished Products, Shuttle transportation and Warehouse management.  Reporting to the VP of Ops, the Site Leader will work together with Group leaders to manage and continuously optimize the operation.

 

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that customer expectations are met and/or exceeded within the confines of company guidelines.
  • Quarterly presentations to customer senior management relative to our scorecard and initiatives.
  • Participate in customer invited meetings.
  • Communicate with the customer and demonstrate initiatives supporting continuous improvement.
  • Meet company objectives with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment
  • Quarterly presentations to senior management of BLG Plant objectives and initiatives
  • Establish 5 year / contract life business plan, annual budgets and ensure targets are met.
  • Local initiatives to ensure plant progression in all regards
  • Plan and execute the concepts of lean manufacturing.
  • Ensure the plant plans and executes productivity tasks on an annual and ongoing basis.
  • Prioritize activities associated with the elimination of waste in all aspects of our operations
  • Continue to build a stronger salaried team capable of leading the hourly workforce into the demands of the future.
  • Improve employee relations and morale through participation of personnel from the shop floor and instill behavioral discipline.
  • Work with the business Director of Operations and Engineering to identify business opportunities within the capabilities of the plant and local area.
  • Ensure that BLG Logistics is a positive force within the community and considered to be a good employer.
  • Increase the exposure of BLG Logistics in a positive light to maximize our opportunity for future growth.
  • Work with other suppliers and industry focus groups in the local community to learn from their experiences and adapt accordingly
  • Participates as an active member of the management team in supporting ISO 14001 and ensuring that their direct reports abide by these processes and operating work instructions.
  • Drives, Attends, and participates in ISO 9001:2008 management review
  • Functional responsibility to ensure the work environment is safe at all times.
  • Works with the HR Manager and the Plant Engineer to support JHSC and compliance with all regulations and policies regarding SafeWork.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Min. of 5 years of experience working in a managerial position within a manufacturing/logistics environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related field is preferred.
  • Experience working within the Automotive Mfg. Supplier industry is preferred.
  • Flexible – able to work overtime or varying shifts as required to support the demands of the business.
  • Experience adhering to and implementing certain ISO standards is required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • 10 – 15% travel to customers, prospective customers and other BLG sites.
