On behalf of our client, DMT Clear Gas Solutions, we are looking for an experienced E&I Project Engineer. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering. Experience in the gas-processing industry would be preferred. This is a hybrid position, based at the company’s new U.S. office in Schaumburg, IL

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

As the E&I Project engineer, you are the first point of contact within our project teams for anything technical. You will manage all engineering and manufacturing processes between clients, suppliers, and the DMT teams, both in the US and the Netherlands. DMT aims to achieve excellence in customer service and delivery with a focus on partnership, predictability, and quality. It will be your responsibility to ensure that clients receive the high-quality equipment and professional project execution they can rely on. The total estimated travel time is 10-15%, primarily domestic but also some to Europe (Netherlands) for onboarding, collaboration, and training.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist in cost calculations and provide support to the sales team.
  • Detailing the technical specifications of equipment.
  • Provide input and review the design(s) and detailed drawings.
  • Manage engineering efforts for your projects with the office in the Netherlands.
  • Lead the RFQ process in cooperation with the purchaser.
  • Work with the DMT ERP system for Project administration.
  • Contract suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team.
  • Manage and expedite suppliers (incl. QA/QC, FAT tests).
  • Meet with the clients for technical and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate project customer site phase with field service colleagues.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in an industrial project environment. Ideally, with capital equipment manufacturing in processing biogas, energy, wastewater treatment, or mining sectors.
  • Electro-technical, engineering, and practical (installation) experience would be ideal.
  • Hands-on experience with gas-processing equipment is preferred.
  • Good understanding of P&ID, PFD, and 3D drawings
  • Good knowledge of PLCs, control panel design, instrumentation, low and medium voltage electric Installation, Electrical LO, and Schematics.
  • Knowledge of ATEX / IEC-Ex / NFPA / UL / CSA standards is preferred.
  • Proactive, self-starter, with the ability to work independently.
  • Assertive, goal, and results-oriented.
  • An analytical, creative, innovative problem solver and troubleshooter.
  • Continuous learner.
  • Team player with good communication and organizational skills.
  • Be flexible in the way of dealing with people of different cultures in the company’s organization.
  • Willing to occasionally travel domestically and internationally (10-15%), primarily to customer sites and occasionally to the Netherlands for training and onboarding/collaboration.
  • Hybrid role that requires working out of the Chicago/Schaumberg office part of the week (min 3 days).
