Sales Manager Metrology

Position Overview:
Seeking a DISTRICT SALES MANAGER located in the Greater Quad Cities region or the Greater Chicago, IL area to highlight their technical sales talents within parts of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. This position reports to the Midwest Regional Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Metrology Equipment, is self-directed, has a resourceful spirit, and the focus required to deepen market share within the assigned region.
Responsibilities:
Territory Management:
- Develop and execute sales plans for the assigned district, identify current key accounts while placing a strong emphasis on cultivating new customers within existing and emerging market segments.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers to understand their needs and offer the appropriate tailored solutions. Daily auto travel (up to 75% of the time) within the district territory.
- Channel Partners: Support and educate the distribution network with ongoing technical assistance, quotes, new product updates, demonstrations, and promotions, to ensure they are prepared to successfully promote the Mahr brand.
- Product Knowledge: Stay in tune with industry trends, competitor activities, and new product developments to effectively position Mahr metrology equipment in the market.
- Forecasting: Daily utilization of Salesforce® CRM, create opportunities, events, and tasks for all activities related to engagement and management of the district.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric outcome.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven outside sales experience within the dimensional metrology industry or closely related industrial capital equipment outside sales experience will also be considered.
- Leadership skills to support distribution channels and representative personnel are preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and selling skills, along with the ability to create and develop lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues.
- High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Based on your home office, must be able and willing to travel up to 75% of the time, within the assigned district.
