Our client Lantal Textiles Inc., an international firm with global headquarters in Switzerland and its North American operations near Winston-Salem, NC has engaged us on an exclusive basis in the search for an ambitious Sales Manager Americas. In their particular field of expertise Lantal is a recognized world leader in the design, production, and distribution of textiles and services for the transportation industry, aviation, bus, and railway operators. The company has undergone substantial growth in recent years with organic growth in the various business segments.

Position

In this compelling and exciting position, you will be given a great deal of freedom to identify the key individuals of the airlines, develop new clients, manage existing Key Accounts and initiate, direct and coordinate outstanding sales strategies for the ‘Americas’ aviation market. This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing high-level sales plans, while also ensuring your strategic execution, which positively impact revenue, profitability, and contribute to increased market share.

With your sound commercial sales background, strong business acumen, and above all, a strong desire to succeed, you navigate well in a fast-paced international environment. Complex situations do not faze you and you have the ability to deeply penetrate organizations, capture opportunities and draw the right conclusions.

Objectives and Key Responsibilities

  • Drive comprehensive sales initiatives, with focus on North-, Central-, and South American based airlines to realize business growth and brand equity
  • Set strong focus on market development (identify and win projects)
  • Serve as a key role in a critical commercial relationship and provide the ‘glue’ to existing regional relationships that might yield future synergies
  • Participate in developing strategic sales plans in cooperation with Director Markets Airlines
  • Display exceptional customer relationship management
  • Perform ‘Americas’ business development with focus on the airlines to achieve overall sales & margin targets
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with different stake holders up to senior decision makers
  • Identify and push opportunities for additional sales (cross-selling) with existing contract growth, and new business through extensive analysis of opportunities
  • Define the best-suited distribution channels and marketing measures for all products and services and implement them
  • Continually monitor market, customer, and competitor developments, report to the Director Markets Airlines, derive and then implement suitable measures and tactics from these observations
  • Participation in budgeting and sales forecasting
  • Support smooth work and information flow within Lantal’s organization
  • Work closely with and actively support customer service in its efforts to minimize inventories and expedite payments
  • Actively assist and support customer service in the event of customer complaints

Profile

  • Academic qualifications in Business (BBA), Communication or Marketing
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • Strong “Hunter” and “Winning” mentality
  • High-level negotiating skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in working with an international organization – building ownership and accountability within an international team
  • Commercial acumen and flair for numbers
  • Strong track record in driving and delivering results

  • Good PC user skills
  • Good planning and organizational abilities
  • Creativity and flexibility – find and implement uncomplicated solutions that match customer expectations

  • Additional language skills such as Spanish and German are desirable
  • Able and willing to travel up to 70% (domestic and international)
