Position Overview:
As the Sales Manager North America, you will be responsible for expanding our market presence across the United States and Canada. This is a dynamic role, with 80% of your focus on hunting for new business and 20% on account management. Reporting to the Global Sales & Service Manager in the Netherlands, you will need to be a self-starter, capable of working independently while also coordinating closely with your international team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development efforts in North America, focusing on food handling and packaging solutions.
- Identify and establish relationships with prospective clients, particularly within the food and pet food consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors.
- Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring continued customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Conduct presentations and negotiations with key decision-makers to close sales.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales Support, Engineering, and Product Management to ensure seamless project execution.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and seminars to maintain market visibility and network with potential clients.
- Travel extensively (up to 60%) across North America to meet with clients and prospects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of proven success in international B2B sales, ideally in machinery manufacturing or the food industry.
- Strong hunter mentality with a focus on business development (80%) and some account management (20%).
- Technical understanding of production line automation in the CPG sector is essential.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent networking skills.
- Self-motivated and independent with the ability to manage responsibilities autonomously.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. and Canada.
