SALES COORDINATOR

On behalf of our client, Bluestone Metals and Chemicals, headquartered in Mooresville, NC, we are currently seeking a motivated high achiever with experience in coordinating/administering the inside sales and logistics operations in an office setting.  Experience with an international trading business with a focus on the import and distribution of raw materials such as chemicals would be ideal. The position is based at the company’s office in Mooresville, NC.

The company’s manufacturing plant in Joliet was acquired by SMR in 2019 and named Bluestone Specialty Chemicals, LLC. The facility produces Nickel, Copper, and Cobalt chemicals, Nitrate, Sulfate, and Chloride solutions for a variety of applications and markets in North America.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role of the Sales Coordinator, you will report to the Managing Director and fulfill a strategically important position within the sales office team. You will be responsible for different aspects of the sales support operations, including providing customer service, the coordination of logistics functions, inventory control, and purchasing functions, assisting with regularity compliance, as well as other administrative duties. You will be part of a motivated team where each team member is committed to helping each other.  This position will require good communications- and analytical skills, as well as strong Excel skills.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process sales data and generate sales reports. Maintain customer- and product-specific sales data.
  • Receive, review, process, and confirm orders. Create purchase orders and sales contracts.
  • Issue invoices, document new project inquiries from new and existing customers. Maintain database with new client company information. Create customer contact reports.
  • Provide quotations to customers. Contact customers to troubleshoot problems as they occur.
  • Perform any other sales support functions and assist Management as required.
  • Perform logistics functions. To track and coordinate shipments, effectively communicate with suppliers, forwarders, brokers, customers, customs- and warehouse representatives.
  • Support inventory functions by the consolidation of the physical inventory and company inventory from sales, shipping, and production records. Prepare a list of products, materials, and parts necessary. Troubleshoot inventory problems in a timely manner.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the international trade industry with strong knowledge of import logistics, highly preferred.
  • Experience with customer service and inside sales operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems. Example: Navision, Fusion.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written (English).
  • Good Microsoft Windows- and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent Excel skills are required.
  • Quick learner and able to adapt to a new working environment.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
  • Multitasker with good organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Works well in a cross-functional team setting.
