About the position
As the Sales and Operations Director for Randek’s North American subsidiary, you will be part of a fast and innovative culture, valuing great teamwork, collaboration, communication, and a positive attitude. Your role will involve overseeing and optimizing key operational functions, driving sales, providing marketing support, managing projects, coordinating service activities, and ensuring efficient spare parts and freight support. With your sound commercial B2B background, preferably in machinery manufacturing, you will understand market opportunities and translate them into actionable and sustainable business plans to boost revenue and profitability. We expect you to be great at stakeholder management and enjoy cross-divisional collaboration while optimizing organizational success. To succeed in this role, you must be a hands-on and solutions-oriented leader comfortable wearing multiple hats. This role requires close cooperation with the headquarters in Sweden and reports directly to the CEO of Randek Inc. Travel of up to 50% is expected, primarily domestic and some international.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Sales Management:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Foster and maintain relationships with clients, distributors, and key stakeholders.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the sales team in Sweden to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Marketing Support:
- Work closely with the marketing team in Sweden to implement and support marketing initiatives.
- Provide input on local market trends to tailor marketing strategies effectively.
- Contribute to the development of marketing content for digital industry publications.
- Involvement in industry exhibitions or conferences as a participant or exhibitor.
Project Management Support:
- Work closely with project management to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with the project management team to address challenges and implement improvements.
- Support team by monitoring project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Service Support:
- Manage and enhance the service support function to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with the service team in Sweden to develop and implement service plans in the North American market.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.
Spare Parts & Freight Support:
- Optimize spare parts and freight logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage inventory levels and collaborate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock.
- Streamline freight processes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
Team Supervision:
- Supervise and lead a team of three employees, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Collaboration with Headquarters:
- Communicate regularly with the CEO to align on strategic objectives.
- Provide updates on North American operations, challenges, and opportunities.
- Ensure seamless coordination between the subsidiary and headquarters.
What We Expect from You
Your Work Experience, Education & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred), Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Min of 7 years of proven experience in operations management, focusing on sales and support functions.
- Strong project management skills and a track record of successful project delivery.
- Familiarity with the construction and machinery manufacturing industry.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Robust business acumen and a good understanding of various business functions, operations, and processes (sales & marketing, customer service, logistics, supply chain, finance)
- Comfortable with technology and proficient in various business software
- High integrity, accuracy, and efficiency in business development tasks, resulting in the best possible team performance.
