Our client, WCR Heat Exchangers, is solely owned subsidiary of the large global manufacturing company. WCR Inc. with its headquarters in Fairborn, OH operates more than seven locations across the United States, as well as sales and service sites/entities in Sweden and in Germany. With more than 30 years in the market, WCR Inc. has established themselves as a leading global producer of new replacement plate and gaskets for all brands and models of plate heat exchangers with licensees in Europe, Asia & South America

The company employs approx. 200 employees, both in Sales/Service, Manufacturing, Engineering and Finance/Accounting.

The WCR production site is located in Washington Courthouse, approx. 45 min from both Columbus and Dayton, and employs about 100 individuals in manufacturing of plates and gaskets, as well as hosts the engineering team. Explore further on

Position Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and well-organized Production Manager to become part of an international environment. The Production site / team is a well-organized and well-run manufacturing setup, and the company is looking to add a Production Manager to the team due to increased demand in the market.

As the new Production Manager, you will play a central role in strengthening and optimizing the Manufacturing function and setup. The company culture entails a constant improvement and efficiency focus, and you will drive a forward-thinking manufacturing approach.

Main responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Manufacturing / Production

  • Plan, review and adjust production schedules to meet demands from the market. This incl. working close together with the sales team and the Chief Operations Officer in demand planning.
  • Manage current and future production staff to meet targets. This incl. hiring and firing of production staff in accordance with US employment practices.
  • Create/Review/Manage SOP’s, and ensure that the production processes at least meet industry standards
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Develop educational materials for Production Supervisors and Operators.
  • Investigate, monitor, document and report on quality of care and service issues.

Improvements and Efficiency

  • Set and Manage Quality Standards
  • Always seek quality/efficiency improvement of manufactured products.
  • Determine, suggest and implement improvements to the Production process
  • Participate in developing performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement and enforce quality improvement activities and policies

Production leadership

  • Manage current and future production staff to meet targets. This incl. hiring and firing of production staff in accordance with US employment practices.
  • Monitor, review and record Production Staff performance.
  • Responsible for presenting annual production budget.
  • Prepare and maintain Production reports.
  • Provide internal/external customer support as required.

Position will report to the Chief Operations Officer.


Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • BA in Engineering, preferably Industrial.
  • At least 5-7 years Production / Manufacturing experience, leading improvement and efficiency projects.
  • Very process and optimization driven.
  • Strong experience in managing a Labor-intensive production site.
  • Strong management / leadership skills – ability to motivate supervisors, staff and colleagues.
  • Direct experience in hiring / firing of production staff.
  • Direct experience in leading OSHA / Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Desire to take initiatives, being pro-active.
  • A go-getter attitude and innovative spirit.
  • Ability to challenge to existing, founded in data and information.
