Production Manager

Our client is an innovative global manufacturer in the appliance industry, specializing in advanced product and process development. The company operates a manufacturing facility in the New Bern, NC area within an international environment.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager will lead all manufacturing, quality, and production planning activities to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This role oversees a manufacturing organization of approximately 200 employees and directly manages Production, Quality, and Planning leadership teams while serving as a key member of the plant leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop production, quality, and planning teams to drive performance and accountability
• Ensure achievement of production targets related to volume, cost, quality, and delivery
• Monitor and improve key operational metrics including OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, and customer PPM.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
• Support capital investments, plant development initiatives, and new product introductions
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Logistics, and cross-functional teams to meet business objectives
• Qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
• 7–10+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or planning environments
• 3–5+ years of experience leading manufacturing teams in a managerial role
• Proven experience managing large teams and implementing Lean Manufacturing improvements
• Strong knowledge of production processes, ERP systems, OEE metrics, cost management, and safety/ISO requirements
