Job description

The potential candidate, a procurement professional with 3-5 years of experience in an industry related field and a technical background, will support the team at Haver & Boecker USA’s location in Conyers, Georgia. Job duties include researching, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services that meet the company’s needs, as well as providing support for general operational and logistical procedures.

Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Generate, issue and release purchase orders
  • Provide purchasing support to all departments
  • Follow up on order confirmations, incomplete and inaccurate vendor shipments and file and resolve discrepancies as needed

  • Manage open orders and adjust orders if required (technical specifications, delays, item number or pricing)
  • Confer with Finance Department for reconciliation of purchase orders
  • Collaborate with shipping and receiving department to confirm accuracy of received orders and supplies
  • Negotiate rates and prices with vendors and secure most cost-effective solutions
  • Source local vendors and build a reliable quality network of vendors
  • Manage maintenance agreements for heating and air units, garbage disposal, forklifts, janitorial duties and sprinkler and alarm systems
  • Manage sub-contracting for the repair of spare parts
  • Prepare commercial invoices for the international export of spare parts and components
  • Manage review and evaluation of freight contracts
  • Follow environmental safety guidelines and regulations to remain in compliance with US laws.
  • All other duties as requested

 

Procurement Specialist Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3 – 5 years in an industry related field
  • Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Proficient English communication skills, second language would be an asset (Spanish, German)
  • Advanced computer Skills (MS Office, SAP)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High technical aptitude
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of international commercial terms
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
