Planning Manager

The role and the responsibilities:

The Planning Manager is a technical role requiring in-depth knowledge of planning, supply chain, and inventory control techniques. A strong understanding of business processes and the ability to manage a production planning/scheduling team are essential. In this role you will:

  • Sets, maintains, and manages master production schedule.
  • Provides on-time delivery, schedule production, inventory management, and capacity management.
  • Responsible for supply planning, inventory planning and management. Monitors inventory levels
  • Supervises a team of 6 to 8 people in planning, inventory control and supply chain.
  • Performs training, performance evaluation and development of direct reports.
  • Evaluates the load of critical resources (raw materials, work centers or specific equipment) because of the existing S&OP.
  • Sets and maintains the shipment plan based on supply agreed. Monitor and coordinate batch release process. Monitors progress against shipment plan. Manages backlog.
  • Documents supply planning process and follows the standardized procedures
  • Evaluates and respond to customer change requests. Communicates with account managers to spread customer demand in line with available capacity. Seeks resolution for capacity conflicts in consultation with Sr. Manager.
  • Provides KPI reporting on that includes customer service, plan attainment, inventory, and new product introductions


The candidate’s profile

You are a strategic professional with a background in Supply Chain, Planning Management, Inventory Control, Purchasing and/or Operations within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical skills are a must.

You have the ability to gather information from different teams and set processes and procedures.

You have experience managing a team, support and mentor its members. You have a keen understanding of business practice and are open to share your knowledge and partner with other departments. A diplomatic approach is essential and the ability to influence decision-making is key to be successful in this role.

Knowledge of SAP is a must together with a minimum of 10 years in Operations and 5 years in a managerial role.

We prefer candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management and a APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
