Operations Manager

Our client, H-T-L perma USA (, with international HQ in Germany and globally active in lubrication technologies, has engaged us in the search for an ambitious Operations Manager for its subsidiary in Charlotte, NC. As the clear market leader in its field, perma has an outstanding reputation through its international presence, high-quality, customized products, and innovation. The company offers single- and multi-point lubrication systems which are used in all types of industries and applications anywhere in the world.


In this compelling and exciting position, and as a valued member of the local management team, you will be given a great deal of freedom to utilize your manufacturing/operations experience to support perma’s growth strategy in the US. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee a team of 13 and be responsible for production, inventory, shipping, and purchasing. To increase efficiency and decrease costs, you will improve current production processes while also envision, plan and implement new production lines in perma’s imminent US facility expansion. With your operational as well as strategic experience in process engineering you are well equipped and play an integral part within perma and its continued growth.   • Presides over production, warehouse and purchasing, and its sub-departments
  • Ensures product is created on time and lead time schedule is met
  • Sets and meets production goals
  • Develops, implements and manages improvements to reduce production costs
  • Develop production schedules and duty assignments
  • Continues improvement (CIP) of all purchasing, production and shipping processes
  • Continues integration of production processes into ERP
  • Collaborates with management to strategically align the operations to support the overall company strategy and growth plans
  • Trains and supervises production supervisors and employees
  • Cross-train production team members for maximum production flexibility
  • Report to MD on production status, stock levels, issues, etc. and suggest improvements
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs in conjunction with the safety engineer
  • Documentation of production processes in written form (e.g. Packaging, labeling, filling instructions, etc.)
  • Ensures quality goals are met
  • Presides over building maintenance (e.g. frequent check on roof, greenkeeper, etc.)


  • Develops and implements strategic purchasing processes
  • Implementation of vendor strategy
  • Obtaining quotations from local and international vendors
  • Purchasing of products, goods, and supplies from local and international vendors
  • Vendor negotiations to achieve lower costs
  • Responsible to oversee end of the year inventory
  • Overseas incoming goods inspection and quality control
  • Oversees end of the year inventory



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial-, Manufacturing- or Mechanical Engineering or degree in other discipline paired with relevant work experience
  • Experience in a leading operations role in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of production processes and layouts
  • Ability to envision layouts of new manufacturing lines
  • Track record of building a high-performing team to succeed in a growth-oriented atmosphere
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes and methodologies
  • Proactive mindset and able to work independently
  • Strong leadership skills

  • German or Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory
