National Sales Manager – Food Retail

Brief:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a National Sales Manager. The ideal candidate is an experienced sales professional with a genuine passion for Italian foods, the ability to connect with people at all levels of an organization, a solid understanding of the industry in North America, and experience selling private labels. Energetic, dedicated, and self-motivated, the National Sales Manager will be based in his home-office and will develop relationships with existing and new clients. Traveling is required.

 

The role and the responsibilities:

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for the sales activities of in the US. Additionally, he/she will:

 

  • Lead sales growth, profitability, strategy, and execution for the assigned accounts or/and territory
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Support the Private Label team to develop new business opportunities.
  • Identify and develop sales targets through a consistent sales plan.
  • Meet deadlines, work on budgets, and keep profitability.
  • Report on sales forecasts, review sales statistics to determine customer needs and help develop sales campaigns to meet company’s goals.
  • Lead the execution of all customer agreements/programs through strong teamwork and communication with customers, distributors, and brokers/partners.
  • Coordinate, attend, and manage trade shows.

 

 

Your skills and background:

  • Minimum of 7 years in a sales role in the retail food industry is a must.
  • Proven experience managing a large territory, selling both direct and through distribution and brokers.
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet sales goals, create sales reports and report to a foreign entity.
  • Strong knowledge of the USA retail industry.
  • BA in business administration or similar is highly preferred.
  • A problem-solving approach. Excellent negotiation skills. A closer.
  • Above-average communication and organizational skills.
  • Italian is a plus
