Manufacturing Operations Manager

Franke Foodservice Systems Americas, Inc. - Dublin, OH

In this newly created position within the manufacturing operations team, you will provide leadership for manufacturing activities and projects relating to production. You will monitor operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met and followed. You develop production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and lead production with a focus on safety,while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and internal company policies
  • Direct, manage and develop employees and supervisors
  • Establish and monitor facility operating budgets; analyze manufacturing costs and material usage reports; develop labor models; identify and implement improvements to positively affect profitability
  • Establish and implement improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance and production
  • Recommend purchase of all capital equipment and plant expansion
  • Prepare and/or maintain various reports, records and/or logs (such as budget, production, environmental and safety)
  • Foster and maintain a high level of customer service through on-time deliveries, responsiveness to customer needs and ensuring that the quality of the shipped product meets all customer quality requirements
  • Champion Kaizen practices throughout the facility
  • Coordinate with Human Resources all aspects of employee relations


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Management – Business and management principles
  • Design – Design techniques, tools and principles, involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Engineering & Technology – Practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Mechanical – Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Production & Processing – Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Safety & Security – Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations, and strategies to promote a safe environment


Education and/or Experience

  • Hands-on design, manufacturing, and engineering experience is imperative
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Manufacturing Management or Business Administration preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of overall manufacturing experience in a leadership role
  • Track record of building a high-performing team to succeed in fast-moving and growth-oriented atmosphere
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and management techniques including: Pull System, Single Piece Flow, Kaizen, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, Team Building
  • Proven project management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement and change management activities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating across multiple operations and corporate support functions
  • Keen business acumen and attention to detail with a solid record of leading change and delivering superior safety and business results
