Our client, Ålö, is seeking a sales and marketing driven Managing Director N.A. to its brand-new state-of-the-art plant in Greenville, SC, which recently relocated from Telford, TN.  This position directs and coordinates activities of the North American Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, and Forecasting team. What You’ll Be Doing

This is a fantastic opportunity for a progressive Managing Director to further strengthening Ålö’s leading position in North America.  We expect you to have a solid track record in sales and marketing from a manufacturing environment along with significant experience in agricultural machinery and in-depth knowledge of the OEM agriculture business. This role reports directly to the Corporate EVP Sales & Marketing at Ålö’s HQ in Sweden.  Travel of up 50% of the time is required, some international.

  • Sales and marketing planning, pricing, and forecasting for North America in collaboration with global HQ
  • Establish, maintain, and develop customer contacts on all levels, from dealer to OEM.
  • Lead the North American sales team to achieve sales and profitability growth goals.
    • Delegate responsibility for customer accounts to sales team
    • Set individual sales targets with sales team
    • Co-ordinate sales action plans for individual salespeople
    • Monitor the achievement of sales objectives by the sales team
    • Provide feedback, support and coaching to the sales team
    • Coach sales team members in efficient sales
    • Plan and direct sales team training
    • Generate timely sales reports
    • Track, collate and interpret sales figures
  • Collaborate with other company functions/departments to achievement optimal sales objectives
  • Participate in Ålö’s business strategy development and adapt it to changing market conditions as needed
  • Represent Ålö in North America as requested by the EVP Sales & Marketing and/or other members of Ålö’s Group Management Team
  • Make decisions on customer activities; (i.e., pricing, sales campaigns, and promotions in North America)
  • Review and analyze activities, costs, sales operations, and forecast data to determine North American progress toward set goals and objectives
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with North American customers and industry associations.  Represent Ålö at key trade shows in North America
  • Oversee marketing communications activities in North America; advertising, trade publications, trade shows, and internal communications
  • Participate in the development of Ålö, Quicke and Original Implements programs for trademark and brand protections
  • Improve operational efficiencies in all departments within reporting structure
  • Prepare and deliver monthly business review reports to EVP Sales & Marketing for Ålö Group
  • 50% travel required, including domestic and some international travel.

What We Expect from You

  • BA or BS Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing.  MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales and marketing experience from a manufacturing environment ability to implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Proven sales experience in agricultural equipment and in-depth knowledge of the OEM agriculture business
  • Solid experience in technical B2B product sales
  • Impressive track record of growing sales in North American market
  • Exceptional leadership skills: hands-on, mentor, and manager of people and sales teams (i.e., previous experience as a Sales Manager, Regional Manager and/or General Manager)
  • International management experience and/or working for an international company is a plus
  • Extensive experience in negotiating with OEM’s, dealers, and distributors
  • Customer service-minded and quality-focused, with a commitment to continuous sales process improvement (you’ll spend a significant amount of time with customers; travel to see customers; and participate in events involving customers)
