The position is based at the U.S. main location in Baltimore, MD.

In the Logistics Manager role, you will manage lead and manage a team of freight forwarders. You will be responsible for managing all freight forwarding operations along with assisting with various commercial functions in North America, including but not limited to process control and process improvement, maintaining, and growing existing commercial contacts in daily operations, providing input for commercial development, performing assigned marketing activities, sales support and service delivery reporting.

Your main objective will deliver adequate opportunity prioritization, pricing, routing, and process solution design (timely and quality-wise) in alignment with the company’s commercial requirements.



Service delivery management – 75%

  • Lead the Freight Forwarding Team
  • Fulfills task assigned to them by Commercial Manager
  • Problem resolution
  • Design, Set-up and Fulfillment of given KPI’s to monitor progress and to maximize the performance of the Forwarding.
  • Process optimization (internal and external).
  • Supervises and controls customers’ inventories.
  • Supports Business Development with local, national and global pricing.
  • Assisting with the preparation and implementation of commercial plans, policies and objectives
  • Keep knowledge up to date about changes and developments in the supply chain/ competition analysis.
  • Design and implement a training program with a goal of continuously improving team knowledge of the company’s products and customer services.
  • Monitoring changes in industry services and adjusting existing processes accordingly top meet these changes.


Business Development and Sales Support – 25%

  • Explore new business opportunities with existing customers (cross-sell, up-sell).
  • Benchmark and analyze cost drivers and provide market intelligence and price trends.
  • Support sales and marketing by maintaining and expanding existing company business relations. Build and maintain successful and profitable partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly management reports.
  • Assist the Commercial team in local and global logistics bids and collecting data for RFP/RFQ responses.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Previous management experience within the freight forwarding or related logistics industry.
  • 5+ years’ sales and marketing experience in ocean/air freight forwarding business desired.
  • Possess extensive relationship network in the industry.
  • Ability to lead and manage a Team of ~10 employees.
  • Client- and solution-oriented, outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize workload, detail-oriented.
  • Positive energy/drive, independent and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and persuasion skills.
  • Knowledge of MS environment, CRM system (preferably SAP and/or Salesforce).
  • Additional language knowledge is a plus.
