Travel – up to 90% (USA and/or Canada)

For over 90 years, our client has been designing and manufacturing some of the most renowned CNC machine tool equipment. One of the largest producers of automated systems for the fabrication of structural steel and equipment for the forging industry, our client offers an extensive product range of innovative products. The US headquarters is located in Baltimore, MD.

 

Role:

The Field Service Engineer is a key role. In this role, you will provide technical hands-on support to troubleshoot and fix issues related to CNC machinery. You possess superb customer service skills and the ability to diagnose issues combined with high-level problem-solving skills.

You will be client-facing and provide assistance with complex technical issues on site.

After your training in Baltimore, you will shadow a Sr. Technician and when ready you will be assigned clients and work independently in the field with technical support over the phone. Our client strongly believes in a well-trained workforce and strives to offer updating training periods at their Academy using the six training rooms and the two conferences rooms where the courses are organized.

During your trips you will manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks. When not travelling, you will support customers troubleshooting equipment through phone calls and connecting remotely to the machine. Your responsibility will also include to produce timely and detailed service reports, cooperate with the technical team and share information across the company.

 

Requirements:
  • Technical Degree: Mechatronic or Industrial mechanics or Industrial electronics or similar.
  • Previous technical field service experience with CNC equipment is a must.
  • Experience in the steel fabrication industry is preferred but not a must.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and documents. Ability to write professional reports and proofread.
  • Proficiency to use Microsoft Office suite to prepare and maintain various documents and reports.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as well as in a team.
  • Must be able to adapt well to change and be very organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks, exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be capable of traveling as well as participate in various training and developmental opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Commissioning of new and old machines.
  • Customer operator & maintenance training.
  • Field repair and maintenance.
  • Hot line service.
  • Going on service calls to include travel in the USA and Canada.
  • Report service activity.
  • Establish and maintain the customer relationship.
  • Provide practical technical solutions and technical advice to customers.
