Field Service Technician

DSI Dantech - Remote (Cincinnati Area)

On behalf of our client, DSI DANTECH, we are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team in North America. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented technician with experience in the commissioning and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment. This is a remote/home-based position, ideally located in the greater Cincinnati, OH, or Kansas City area. Other preferred locations are OK, NB, and IA.

This position is for road-warriors only, expected travel can be as high as 80% at times, North America only.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Field Service Technician, you will work on the company’s freezing and heating systems in the food industry. This includes installation support, complex electrical and mechanical commissioning, and troubleshooting. Service work may include, but not limited to, routine maintenance, repairs, modifications, machine setup, or training of customer personnel. You will provide expertise on all built machines and auxiliary equipment, and any equipment sold. Travel to customers in North America up to 80% at times will be required. Extensive training at the facility in Cincinnati will be provided.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the installation, as well as the electro-mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment at the customer location. This includes preventive maintenance programs and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with customers in both verbal and written form.
  • Conduct hands-on training for customer personnel on the utilization and basic troubleshooting of equipment upon request.
  • Support customer personnel by providing technical knowledge and expertise on the equipment.
  • Be prepared and ready for service assignments on short notice.
  • Prepare service reports accurately and regularly.
  • Represent the company professionally and conduct business with tact and diplomacy.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Education: High School or higher.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-year experience working in an industrial electro-mechanical environment.
  • Experience working on equipment in food industry a plus.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley MicroLogix, Compact Logix, and Control Logix.
  • Able to install, debug and repair of electro-mechanical equipment in the field.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills. Team player, ability to build excellent rapport with the customers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license without any restrictions.
  • Ability to travel on short notice. Able and willing to travel up to 80%.
