Field Service Engineer – Packaging Machinery

Opportunity
Sidel is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support equipment installations, start-ups, commissioning, and testing at customer sites. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance during and after the warranty period, conduct customer training, and deliver after-sales services on Sidel’s packaging equipment. This is a high-impact role ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys travel, solving complex technical issues, and building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission Sidel equipment at customer facilities according to technical, contractual, and safety specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues with mechanical, automation, or electrical systems.
- Prepare job progress charts, detailed service reports, and documentation related to onsite activities.
- Identify and communicate potential after-sales opportunities observed on-site.
- Ensure compliance with Sidel’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), project coordination guidelines, and customer-specific regulations.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery and effective communication.
- Collaborate with the Installation Site Manager and other team members to coordinate project execution.
- Provide onsite training and support to customers, ensuring effective equipment handover.
Profile
Education & Languages:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Degree, or equivalent experience.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) – mandatory.
- Knowledge of Spanish, Italian, or French – advantageous.
- Specialization in automotive mechanics or aseptic systems – a plus.
Experience & Skills:
- 2–3 years of experience in field service or equipment installation, ideally in the beverage or packaging industry.
- Strong technical expertise in at least one of the following:
- Mechanical Systems
- Automation Platforms (B&R, Siemens, Elau, Allen-Bradley)
- Electrical Systems
- Aseptic Technology
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated and customer-focused with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 90%, including international travel).
