Field Service Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join the growing team of one of our clients in Detroit:  a leading provider of high-precision milling machines and machining centers. You will be the critical connection between the manufacturer and our valued customers, ensuring optimal machine performance through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support. In this role, you will play a key role in building strong customer relationships and ensuring their satisfaction. We are looking for people who live near Shelby Township, MI, in the Detroit area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and provide training on clients milling machines at customer sites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues (electrical and mechanical) to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
• Siemens & Heidenhain control troubleshooting
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to optimize machine performance and longevity.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records.
• Installation of retrofits and drive optimizations

Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.

• Build strong relationships with customers through excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical certification.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools
• Experience with Siemens and/or Heidenhain controls, preferably both.
• Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Emphasis on electrical

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to travel 60% of the time.
