On behalf of our client, YER HR Solutions is seeking candidates to join the Service team.

Our client is a growing OEM of highly automated equipment; their saws and fabrication products are used by the best manufacturers for sawing and fabricating construction steel, profiles and pipes.

*Strong mechanical and electrical experience highly preferred

 

  • This is a remote position with 100% travel. Our client is located in Morgantown, PA.
  • Due to travel requirements, all remote candidates will be considered.

 

General Job Description:

The Field Service Engineer shall provide technical (electrical, programming, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) support to customers in North America. The position requires overnight travel and weekend travel is sometimes but not often required. 100% travel is estimated for this role. The technician must be proficient using measuring devices, laser levels, hand tools and multi-meters. The position also requires independent logical thinking, willingness to be a team player, work efficiently with little or no supervision and strong communications skills. This team member shall be based out of our headquarters in Morgantown, PA.

 

The successful candidate will have the following requirements:
Key responsibilities:
  • Perform a complete on site customer machine installation and start up
  • Diagnose technical problems and provide customers with resolution
  • Diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
  • Communicate effectively with customers and company team members
  • Document in detail problem resolution
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ability to perform wiring of machine components
  • Ability to navigate through the machine HMI
  • Ability to work with Variable Frequency Drives
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair Servo motion controls systems
  • Ability to train operators and maintenance personnel on machine operations, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Occasionally other duties outside the service department as needed
  • Willingness to travel overseas for training (primarily Germany, France)

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-year technology or electronics degree, B.S in Electrical/Industrial Engineering preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a field service engineer with automated machinery
  • Ability to work all levels of electrical voltage; single and three phase
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical problems
  • Ability to understand and navigate through PLC and servo motor drive control software
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Ability to comprehend and demonstrate mechanical assembly and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to perform manual assembly of basic machine components and or subassemblies
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing using written text, mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams and machine schematics to describe a problem or suggested improvements
  • Must have a valid passport or be eligible to obtain one
  • 100% travel, primary focus on installations and in field service work
