About the position

 

The ESG Manager will implement and further develop the company’s ESG initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, and enhancing the company’s reputation as a leader in sustainability. Together with the N.A. leadership and European ESG colleagues, you’ll be responsible for establishing robust ESG reporting frameworks, metrics, and targets to measure and track the company’s performance. The candidate we are seeking is passionate about sustainability and gets a thrill from being part of a company that strives to have a great impact on people and the planet while creating business success. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various functions and engage with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, NGOs, and industry associations. We expect you to enjoy a fast-paced environment while working independently and in a teamwork culture. Travel of up to 25% domestically and internationally is to be expected. This position will be remotely based in the United States and report to the Group Director N.A.

 

 

What you’ll be doing more specifically

 

  • Implement and develop the BUFAB’s ESG strategy
  • aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement sustainability policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate BUFAB’s sustainability agenda within the organization and to a wide range of external stakeholders.
  • Establish robust ESG reporting frameworks, metrics, and targets to measure and track the company’s performance.
  • Be the go-to expert and support the organization with sustainability expertise.
  • Analyze, identify, and prioritize key ESG risks and opportunities for the company’s operations, products, and supply chain.
  • Engage with suppliers to conduct regular assessments of the company’s ESG performance including the impact of the suppliers’ operations. Address concerns and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations (in America and Europe), guidelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HSE, Purchasing, Operations, Legal, Sales, and Marketing to integrate ESG into their respective areas.
  • Prepare ESG-related reports, presentations, and communications.
  • Stay up to date on emerging ESG trends, regulations, and industry benchmarks to anticipate potential risks and opportunities.
  • Attend industry meetings, conferences, and trade shows of interest to BUFAB.

 

 

What We Expect from You

Your Work Experience & Education,

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or a similar field.
  • Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., GRI, CDP, CSR-P), and memberships in relevant industry associations are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ESG management with an in-depth knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards
  • Proven track record of assessing and developing suppliers in an international company.
  • Good understanding of current U.S. ESG regulations and industry guidelines, and familiarity with global sustainability trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization to successfully execute action plans.
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel is a requirement for this position.
