About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Engineer to join a forward thinking and innovative company that takes great pride in its commitment to sustainability and strong ethical business practices. As Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for electrical projects and supervise or assist in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. You will also provide training to electrical maintenance personnel, as well as be involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical systems. To be successful in this role, you need at least 4 years of electrical experience and/or training, as well as proficiency in programming computers/PLCs that control and/or monitor various processes or equipment. The ideal candidate has good interpersonal and communication skills, and experience with project management. This position is based out Gränges’ production facility in Newport, AR, and reports directly to Engineering & Maintenance Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance in the purchase and installation of electrical equipment to ensure that the company safety goals are achieved
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems
  • Design and modify existing equipment
  • Select and evaluate contractors for project installation
  • Assist in the review and evaluation of proposed new equipment
  • Develop engineering studies and reports as required
  • Coordinate and manage electrical projects as required
  • Provide assistance to Production and Maintenance as required
  • Work with outside vendors and representatives
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the company safety goals are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What We Expect from You

Your experience & education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 4 years of electrical experience and/or training
  • Experience with large AC Motors/Drives (>1k HP) – Siemens experience is a plus
  • System/circuit design experience, AutoCAD proficient
  • Experience with facility electrical utility (high & medium voltage systems), and hydraulic systems (servo & proportional controls)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with aluminum rolling or casting is a plus
  • Proficient in programming computers/PLCs that control and/or monitor various processes or equipment
