This position directs and coordinates the sales and marketing for the JOST Agriculture business line in North America, which consists of the globally renowned Quicke brand. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and energetic and will get a thrill from being an integral driving force behind innovation and growth in the North American agricultural machinery market. What You Will be Doing
This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward-thinking Director of Sales to further develop JOST Agriculture’s position in North America by identifying new channels to sell existing product lines and supporting the business development of new product lines and potential acquisitions. We expect you to have a solid track record in sales and marketing from a manufacturing environment, significant experience in agricultural machinery, and in-depth knowledge of the agriculture equipment business for OEM and dealer sales. This role reports into their matrix organization to the Global Head of Business Line Agriculture and Head of Region North America. It’s great if you are located near their HQ in Simpsonville, SC; if not, a remote setup is also fine. Up to 50% of travel is expected, mainly domestic and some international. Your responsibilities include:
- Sales and marketing planning, pricing, and forecasting for North America
- Development of innovative sales strategies for JOST Agriculture in North America and continue to build and lead their team to execute and achieve their ambitious growth goals
- Establish, maintain, and develop customer contacts on all levels, from dealer to OEM.
- Delegate responsibility for customer accounts to the sales team
- Set individual sales targets with the sales team
- Co-ordinate sales action plans for individual salespeople
- Monitor the achievement of sales objectives by the sales team
- Provide feedback, support, and coaching to the sales team
- Plan and direct sales team training
- Generate timely sales reports
- Track, collate, and interpret sales figures
- Collaborate with other company functions/departments to achieve optimal sales objectives while fostering strong cross-functional communication to deliver a positive revenue impact
- Participate in JOST Agriculture’s business strategy development and adapt it to changing market conditions as needed
- Sets the overall vision, direction, and strategy for sales growth for JOST Agriculture Inc
- Represent the company as requested by the members of JOST Agriculture’s Group Management Team
- Make sound decisions on customer activities (i.e., pricing, sales campaigns, and promotions in North America)
- Review and analyze activities, costs, sales operations, and forecast data to determine North American progress toward set goals and objectives
- Leverage customer feedback and data to make strategic decisions, identify selling opportunities, allocate resources, and ensure proper staffing
- Maintain and enhance relationships with North American customers and industry associations by representing JOST Agriculture at key trade shows and conferences in North America
- Oversee marketing communications activities in North America, advertising, trade publications, trade shows, and internal communications
- Participate in the brand development of JOST Agriculture programs for North America
- Prepare and deliver monthly business review reports to the Global Head of Business Line Agriculture and Head of Region North America.
- 50% travel required, including domestic and some international travel.

What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of proven, progressive sales and marketing experience in technical products
- Ability to implement sales and marketing strategies from conception to completion
- Proven sales experience in agricultural equipment and in-depth knowledge of the OEM agriculture business
- Solid experience in technical B2B product sales
- Impressive track record of growing sales in the North American market
- Exceptional leadership skills: hands-on, mentor, and manager of people and sales teams (i.e., previous experience as a Sales Manager, Regional Manager, and General Manager). Develop, inspire, and retain a high-achieving team
- International management experience and working for an international company is a plus
- Extensive experience in negotiating with OEMs, dealers, and distributors
- Customer service-minded and quality-focused, with a commitment to continuous sales process improvement (you’ll spend a significant amount of time with customers, travel to see customers, coordinate and participate in events involving customers)
- Has excellent presentation and communication skills, including speaking, writing, active listening, and public speaking.
