A leading global pet food manufacturer with over 100 years of experience, producing high-quality, innovative products for cats and dogs. The company emphasizes sustainability and partners with major retailers for both branded and private-label products. Known for its commitment to excellence and responsible sourcing, it operates state-of-the-art facilities in Europe and the US.

Due to significant growth and expansion objectives in the US, the company’s executive team is seeking its first US-based Chief Sales Officer (CSO). As a key member of the US Executive Leadership team reporting directly to the CEO, the CSO will be responsible for driving the company’s sales performance and shaping its overall sales strategy. This includes leading the sales department, overseeing sales operations, and fostering direct customer relationships as needed. Key responsibilities involve developing strategic sales initiatives, setting team goals, and training staff to ensure success across all accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Utilize experience and relationships to expand business, in retail and B2B business segment
  • Managing all sales team members and processes
  • Setting sales goals and quotas
  • Creating the sales department budget
  • Producing sales forecasts and reports
  • Researching the market and competitors
  • Training, mentoring, and motivating the sales team
  • Building relationships with customers

 

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience
    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s/Graduate degree preferred
    • 5+ years’ experience in CPG, pet, and/or private label business account management
    • B2B sales experience and relationships with retail and pet food manufacturers preferred
  • Leadership & Management Skills:
    • Must portray strong leadership and sales skills
    • Motivate and influence the team to achieve results
    • Problem-solving and customer service skills
    • Strong organizational skills and strategic planning
  • Analytical & Technical Skills:
    • Analytical skills to evaluate data and use it to make decisions
    • Understanding of market trends and adaptability to follow those trends
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, SAP, and other ERP systems
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willing to maintain a fast-paced travel schedule
