Chief Operations Officer

FFT Production Systems - Greer, SC

FFT Production Systems is seeking a dynamic and impactful COO for the company. FFT offers mainly BIW (Body-in-white) manufacturing solutions to Automotive OEM’s and Tier’s 1 in the USA. In alignment with the overall company goals the COO will lead the effort of increasing profits, leading and motivating a team of engineers, back office and on-site teams.

 

Summary
The company is focused in the areas of design and engineering, production and commissioning of complete manufacturing systems. The main focus in the automotive industry is the BIW sector. The company is located in Greer, SC with a headcount of 50 employees and is part of the FFT Group. The operation is organized in cooperation with FFT México (headcount of 300 employees). FFT’s current main customers are located in SC, TN, AL, CA, NC, NY, OH & GA.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities
As a member of the US Executive Team the essential duties are, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the operational development on site and remotely, while increasing the skills and abilities of Project Teams including FFT’s supplier network
  • Creation and management of policies in all operation areas p.e. Project management, mechanical and controls engineering, assembly, etc.
  • Perform regular budget analysis for all operational costs and create plans and actions to maintaining the released project budget (monthly CMR, cost management report)
  • Review technical milestone reports in regards of timing and quality achievements
  • Take ownership and accountability over productivity, deliveries, total team efficiency.
  • Respond to Operational Project Setbacks and ensure all projects have the necessary resources to be successful
  • Maintain compliance with the yearly business plan according to the strategic plan, generated with the executive board.
  • Knowledge and enforcement of the guidelines ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, (AS 9100) besides of the FFT quality management handbook.
  • Creating and maintaining customer relationship
  • Networking between FFT global entities (project, organization, strategy)

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Management or Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years+ experience in a similar role; Recent experience working in an Automotive Mfg. environment is required (project matrix organization)
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience within the Automotive Mfg. industry is required
  • Experienced in leading cross functional departments (Engineering, Quality, Production, etc.)
  • Proven and demonstrated leadership and team building skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Business travel required up to 50% (Domestic and International; valid Passport required)
  • Experienced task force management
  • Highly motivated to develop the FFT organization in the US market
