Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), provides direction, and ensures execution of the strategy and all operational related activities needed to produce quality product. This position will lead the US Subsidiary in all capacities while reporting to the Group CEO in Germany. This role ensures that company policies are being interpreted correctly and fairly within the US subsidiary.

 

Summary

Our client is an Automotive supplier that works directly with OEM’s and other suppliers. The company is based out of Germany and has operated in the US market for approx. 15 years. One of the main functions of the CEO will be to drive the company towards a new level of operational excellence while leading a team in a co-operative manner. German language skills are required for this position.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

As the lead US Executive, the CEO’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Translate manufacturing strategies into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
  • Oversee all manufacturing business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Responsible for personnel deployment and personnel development of company personnel
  • Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to the established customer and company quality standards
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Directs and monitors department managers (i.e., Quality, HR, Production, Accounting) to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
  • Work with all levels of employee to inform employees of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results
  • Direct Engineering Services and Production Engineering activities to provide the most efficient machines, materials and location to create peak level of production rates
  • Direct and ensure high functioning support departments (Production parts ordering and scheduling, Warehouse Functions and Quality Assurance)
  • Report Monthly/Quarterly/Annual results to Executive Team in Germany

 

Management of Company Financial Responsibilities 

  • Identify, recommend, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data
  • Perform regular budget analysis for all operational costs and create plans to stay in the current budget while still maintaining the required production levels
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements to cost control for staffing, production costs and related controls

 

Special Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Must be able to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization and counterparts in Germany and national and international customers and suppliers
  • Solid knowledge in textile manufacturing preferred
  • Solid knowledge in general business administration and project management
  • Solid knowledge in quality engineering and statistics Basic knowledge in lean management, DIN EN ISO 9001, VDA 6, TSA 16949

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Management or Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years+ experience in a similar role; Recent experience working in a Manufacturing environment is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the Automotive Manufacturing industry is required
  • Automotive Textile Experience is highly preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced German Language Skills are required
  • Experienced in leading cross functional departments (HR, Quality, Production)
  • Proven and demonstrated leadership and team building skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Be passionate and take initiative
  • Ability to see data and numbers in context to the organization’s goals
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Business travel required up to 30% (Domestic and International; valid Passport required)
