Business Development Analyst

Position Description:
The Business Development Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Business Development team’s growth in both government and commercial markets. This position is responsible for researching opportunities, analyzing market trends, supporting proposal development, and maintaining business development systems and tools. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle, and a keen understanding of the government contracting landscape. We are currently focused on candidates living in the DC metro area. Experience in the commercial healthcare market is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Drive the development of the government and commercial pipeline using public and commercial intelligence systems.
- Conduct market research using tools such as SAM.gov, GovWin, FPDS (federal procurement data system), USA.gov Spending, and agency-specific portals to identify new business opportunities.
- Use market intelligence systems to research market trends, agency and organization budgets and initiatives, contract awards, and organizational priorities.
- Analyze procurement forecasts, contract vehicles (e.g., government-wide acquisition contract/GWACs, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity/IDIQs), and federal budget data to inform pipeline development.
- Use knowledge of company services and capabilities to identify, analyze, and evaluate potentially desirable opportunities through specific contract data points (e.g., NAICS codes, incumbent contract holders, dollar value, procurement timelines, etc.).
- Research and collect RFIs, previous RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), and internal proposal documents related to specific opportunities.
- Support the tracking and management of opportunities through the business development lifecycle, from qualification through proposal submission.
- Maintain the Sales CRM system with accurate and up-to-date opportunity data, and provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other analytics to support the business development strategy and track performance.
- Assist in preparing gate reviews, capture plans, and competitive analyses.
- Collaborate with capture and proposal teams to support go/no-go bid decisions, partner identification, and proposal response planning.
- Help coordinate BD-related meetings, prepare briefing materials, and take meeting notes to support follow-up actions.
- Attend virtual and in-person conferences and industry days on behalf of the Business Development (BD) team.
- Monitor relevant federal and key state policies, legislative developments, and industry trends that affect BD strategy.
- We are currently focused on candidates living in the DC metro area
- May be required to attend DC local events and periodically come to Wilkes-Barre. Travel up to 25%.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following specific qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work remotely and meet deadlines as required
- Demonstrated ability in market research and ability to learn market research tools and CRM software quickly
- Passion for managing the quality and accuracy of research data and analytics
- High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in contributing to the completion of organizational projects and goals
- Experience in using general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards
- Ability to effectively communicate with company executives and government personnel
- Experience working in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment
- Ability to think strategically, analytically, and proactively about diverse business solutions
- Experience with multi-tasking in a fast-paced and fast-growing company
