The role

 

On behalf of our client, YER USA is looking for an Architectural Sales Manager in the New York City metro area. In this role,e you will oversee the success of the sales performance within the assigned territory. The majority of the sales activities will take place in New York City. The goal in this role is to develop new business opportunities while managing a current book of business.

As an Architectural Sales Manager (ASM), your role involves extensive business travel within your designated territory to engage with current and potential clients, including architects, designers, developers, fabricators, and general contractors. During these visits, you will act like a consultant working closely with the clients to ensure they receive the proper documentation and access to new products. A significant part of your job is to showcase and promote new products during sales calls using actual loose product samples.

Additionally, you will provide clients with accurate pricing information, updates on product changes, and the status of their orders. This requires close collaboration with the Customer Service Department and your fellow ASMs to ensure seamless communication and support. Effective time management is crucial as you juggle multiple tasks and prioritize your work efficiently.

You will also coordinate and conduct regular product knowledge seminars for architectural and design firms, utilizing a variety of presentation tools such as product samples, PowerPoint presentations, and relevant literature to convey information clearly. Furthermore, you will actively partake in exciting tradeshows and special events, enhancing the brand’s visibility and reach within the industry.

 

Your background, knowledge, skills, and attitude

 

To be successful in this role you possess:

 

  • At least 2 years of prior industry knowledge and relevant sales experience in one of the following industries: tiles/flooring, furniture, bathroom faucets, lighting, kitchen cabinets etc…
  • Prior experience in planning and implementing sales strategies.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational & multitasking skills. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills.
  • Initiative, results-focused, goal-oriented, energetic, and intellectually curious.
  • A strong sense of aesthetics and passion for design is key.
