JOB DESCRIPTION
Due to its continued growth, “the company” is looking for an Application Engineer for its US subsidiary in Charlotte, NC. This position will be
reporting to the Application Engineering Manager and travel throughout North and South America with a focus on Spanish-speaking
customers and prospects. The Application Engineer will be a key element of “the company’s growth by supporting the company’s sales
organization in the field and by leading customer training. The ideal candidate has a strong technical aptitude combined with a high
customer service orientation and a passion for industrial applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical field support for “the company” distributors, end customers, key accounts, and OEMs upon request
- Review of customer feedback to understand demands/expectations of products & services
- Conduct professional technical reports and site surveys for “the company “, products, applications, and lubricants
- Professional documentation of technical information
- (Initial) implementation of “the company” products
- Reporting via CRM systems
- Set-up, optimization, and further development of application engineering tools
- Support in ongoing projects
- Team member of the global Application Engineering Knowledge Database
- Development of new/potential industry sectors from a technical point of view (Steel, Marine, Food, Paper…)
- Design, develop, and prepare training courses/modules and other relevant documentation according to “the company” ACADEMY training concept
- Carry out “the company” ACADEMY training for distributors, key accounts, OEMs, and end customers in-house and/or on-site.
- Develop and maintain technical competency throughout the “the company” USA organization
- Schedule, arrange, and organize the “the company” ACADEMY training
- Continuous improvement of all training programs
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A technical education such as a degree in an engineering discipline would be preferred but equivalent work experience
qualifies as well. - Ideally 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, lubrication, and/or roller bearings
- A background in manufacturing, mining, automotive or heavy industry would be preferred
- English and Spanish language proficiency is a must
- Ability to travel 40% throughout North and South America
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office package
- Experience with 3D drawing programs such as Autodesk Inventor or similar is preferred but not required
- Experience using a CRM system
- Strong communication skills and comfortable in front of the customer
