Our client, Höganäs Environment Solutions (HES), headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, is a subsidiary of Höganäs AB founded in 1797, is seeking to hire an Account Manager for its southeast territory to support its growing operations in the Americas. Höganäs is the world’s leading manufacturer of iron and metal powders serving a broad range of industrial needs in automotive components, brazing products, electric motors and systems for sustainable energy production and environmental services.

Höganäs Environment Solutions, focuses on water treatment and soil/groundwater remediation. It has developed a number of breakthrough patented products and processes that apply proprietary metal powder technology, which successfully and sustainably remove contaminants including: Chromium-6, arsenic, metals and other toxins and contaminants from drinking water, industrial wastewater and soil/groundwater. The Höganäs Environment Solutions’ brand new office and R&D lab is located in Cary, NC, in the Research Triangle Park area—a cluster where academia, research and entrepreneurship meet to develop new technologies and solutions in the environmental field.

Position

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional to join a growing, dynamic, innovative and diverse team of passionate experts who are leading the way internationally in water treatment and remediation technology. The Account Manager will be responsible for selling HES’ products, processes and technology to assigned customer base or territory in the southeast region of the United States of up to 12 states including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Northern Florida.

The ‘hunter-minded’ candidate we are a seeking will have a successful track record in complex solution selling preferably from: environmental industries, ground water remediation, industrial water treatment and/or municipal drinking water.  You must have the ability to pro-actively build and manage a pipeline and we hope you get a thrill from playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of Höganäs. This remotely based Account Manager will report directly to the North American Sales Manager.

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Be the primary representative for HES for the southeast territory and assigned customers base.
  • Manage the sales process of environmental solutions including products, processes and services.
  • Develop a trusted consultative relationship with customers.
  • Become a customer representative and advocate inside the HES organization
  • Deliver value proposition of our superior solutions and products & services.
  • Coordinate projects with other HES technical staff (R&D, process development, product management) to ensure successful delivery of our solutions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service with all sales activities including concept and solution presentations, support delivery of outstanding service on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be responsible for maintaining long term customer relationships including handling credit management, customer service complaints/investigations, and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Submit and fulfill annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Submit and respond to information about trends in the market place, as well as competitors’ activities.
  • Actively pursue sales leads and opportunities, keeping North American Sales Manager informed of business pipeline and involving manager when needed for issues critical to sales.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university. Graduate studies in Business or Environmental sciences is a plus.
  • Experience of sales in the environmental industry, groundwater remediation, industrial water treatment, and/or municipal drinking water segments.
  • Ability to manage channels in the market place
  • Proficiency in foreign language is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires frequent traveling, about 50% of the time.
  • Adequate sight, speech and hearing abilities.
  • Required personal protective equipment devices must be worn.
